Successful Craigslister! Now…world of antiques?

05 Nov

As you can see from my previous post, I’ve put a few things on Craigslist and I’ve been pretty successful.  Recently, I’ve sold the last of the Legos and feel pretty smug about it.  Okay, yes, I probably would’ve made five times as much if I’d  held out with supply and demand — those lego people sure were a hot entity — but oh well – they’re gone!  Also, my yard looks twice as big without that huge swing set.   cups1

Since I had such a success on Craigslist, several people have asked me to post items for them.  I’ve added in some video games and books so far (and sold some already).  Last weekend, I was asked to sell fine bone china.  Now, this opened up a whole new world to me – antiques.  The world of antiques is proving to be quite exciting.  I didn’t know there was so much history behind these beautiful works of art.  Right now, I haven’t sorted through the two TV box size boxes, but I’m salivating here — they’re colorful and beautiful pieces and I can’t wait to see what I uncover.  Heck, I didn’t know I was into this stuff.

In between work, family, nanowrimo, freelance writing, blog updates, editing and everything else, I plan to educate myself in the fine art of fine china and antiques.  I welcome any advice from antique lovers or connoisseurs — I admit, this is all new to me and  I’m just a bit intimidated.  But, of course,  it’s hard to turn down a challenge.  Onward to to the world of antiques!!
